You will combine interpersonal skills with evidence-based therapies to attain specialist skills required for therapeutic interventions relevant to their professional practice.

MMH4EPM Experience and Perceptions of Mental Illness Credit Hours: 15

In this subject, you will explore the complexities that exercising choice and control poses for people with mental illness and develop knowledge and skills such as supported decision making and recovery orientated practice. It will also explore the challenges and strategies for ensuring the collective voices of people with mental illness are heard about systemic issues.

EDU5SAW Schools and Wellbeing Credit Hours: 15

In this subject you will explore issues related to well-being and school responsiveness. You will examine the topics of trauma, anxiety, depression and bullying to understand how complex personal and socio-cultural issues can impinge on wellness and learning. You will apply principles from various health promotion frameworks to whole school approaches and classroom strategies to promote learning. You will examine how schools and individual teachers can take a proactive stance to improve well-being.

EDU5TTP Trauma Theory and Practice Credit Hours: 15

This subject explores the impact of early childhood trauma on learning. The transdisciplinary approach draws from multiple perspectives and includes current research, pedagogies and practices informing the provision of trauma informed education.
