The average software engineer earns $79,133 as a median salary, while the top 10 per cent earn $113,000. The median salary for those with 5–9 years of experience is $90,000.2

Business Analyst, IT A$81,997 As a business analyst with heavy IT skills, you’ll focus on improving systems, outcomes and processes through technology. The median salary is $81,997 a year, while the top 10 per cent earn $112,000. The median salary for those with 5–9 years of experience earn $93,000.3

Senior Programmer Analyst A$108,810 Programmer analysts are typically responsible for a group of programmers that they’ll train, manage and mentor.
