Entry requirements
To be considered for admission to the Master of Business Administration, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Completion of an Australian bachelor degree or higher or equivalent in any discipline, and a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience* (or part‑time equivalent); OR Completion of an Australian graduate certificate or higher or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Typically includes a minimum of two years’ professional experience in a managerial or professional role involving responsibility for decision-making/supervisory role such as managing people or strategic projects.
We would also require:
- Transcripts from all prior universities
- Letter of recommendation (professional letters of recommendation may be requested to verify management experience)
- Resume or CV

Additional entry opportunities
Your academic records, English proficiency and employment experience are considered in your application to La Trobe.
Alternate entry
Applicants with eight years of work experience and three years in a management role, but without an undergraduate degree will be considered for professional entry.
Recognition of prior learning
If you’ve completed previous study, you may qualify for advanced standing. This can reduce the number of subjects required to complete your course so you graduate sooner and save on tuition fees. The amount of credit received depends on the level and relevance of your studies and the number of subjects completed. You can review the full policy and search for credit here.
